Aimed at presenting Shandong to the world, "Confucius' Hometown, China's Shandong" Online Photography Contest has been successfully held for twelve years consecutively. The contest has attracted numerous photographers and shutterbugs, with the official page view hits a record. The contest featuring a large number of works from participants with rich contents provides abundant quality image resources for Shandong's publicity. The corresponding photo exhibitions have been held in Shandong Museum and Shandong Gallery for years.

Sponsored by the Information Office of People's Government of Shandong Province and Shandong Photographers Association, and organized by China Shandong Website, "Confucius' Hometown, China's Shandong" Online Photography Contest embarked on a new journey this year. The contest will pay more attention to the professionalism and interactivity of the competition, and hold various kinds of activities so as to provide photographers with a broader platform for display and communication.
